Since its inception, the United Nations Children’s Fund, or UNICEF has been a pioneer in promoting safe environments for young people within the international community. Amid global crises of almost all manners, some of the most affected victims are children. At MUNUC 33, UNICEF will spotlight two pressingly important topics, Juvenile Justice, and Social Service Inequalities for Immigrant Children. Although progress has been made in this regard, there are vast gaps around the world in both of these areas. The United Nations in general, and UNICEF in particular, is well suited to lead the charge to improve respect for the rights of children and their standards of living.
