Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors,
It is my honor and privilege to invite you to the thirty-eighth annual session of the Model United Nations of the University of Chicago, to be held Thursday, February 5 to Sunday, February 8, 2026 at the Hyatt Regency, located in the heart of downtown Chicago. MUNUC 38 will welcome over 3,000 high schoolers from around the world to address some of the international community’s most pressing matters and make progress towards becoming future leaders.
MUNUC is nationally recognized for its distinctive approach to debate. By holding pedagogy as our core value, we encourage collaboration and productive discourse to flourish above all else. We help our delegates build their confidence as public speakers, critical thinkers, coherent communicators, and globally-conscious leaders. Our mission has always been to facilitate an experience where high school students from around the world become more active and informed leaders in their communities.
Built from the attention to detail and care for the delegate experience that unites our team of over 300 students from the University of Chicago, we are proud of each of our thirty-one unique committees which offer a broad swath of issues for delegates to explore. Committee topics cover a wide range of time periods, geographic locations, and scopes that we hope delegates can learn and grow from by addressing the challenging and nuanced subject matter. Our experienced committee executives provide each delegate individualized feedback throughout the conference so that delegates may grow into young leaders.
Registration for MUNUC 38 will open on May 1st, 2025, with confirmation following within one week of your registration. A full timeline of our key dates can be found below. Any additional concerns regarding logistics, including our fee timeline, financial aid programs, and venue can be found under the Conference tab of our website.
Our legacy, which now extends back thirty-eight years, remains focused on our unwavering commitment to providing a singular and unforgettable experience to each and every student who attends our conference. Whether this would be your school’s inaugural trip to MUNUC or its thirty-eighth, we are delighted to welcome you to Chicago next February, and to help the next generation of leaders learn and grow. Both myself and my Administrative team are at your service should you have any questions, concerns, or feedback.
Sincerely,
Mateo Lopez
Secretary-General, MUNUC 38
