As the Great War rages in Europe, Arabia is growing restless. Following centuries of rule by the Ottoman Empire, Arabs are ready to return to home rule. This task is not going to be easy, and there is little unity within the Arabian tribes. One of the powerful local leaders on the peninsula is Hussein bin Ali—the Sharif of Mecca and the surrounding region of Hejaz. After talks with the British Empire he has declared the Arab revolt to be started, but can the British be trusted to keep their side of the deal?

As the home of Mecca and Medina—two of the three most holy cities in Islam—Hejaz is one of the largest travel hubs of the region. Despite this, it will take a lot of work to turn this Sharifate into a viable nation-state and there are many who do not wish to see a strong Hashemite state emerge. Now that Hejaz is a self-declared independent state, it is up to Hussein and you, his most trusted advisors, to shape the future of the kingdom. Will you let the young kingdom fade into obscurity, or will you earn your place in the history books? Only time will tell.
