Extra! Extra! Read all about it!
Come on down to the South Side of Chicago to see the Great Columbian Exposition! The city of Chicago, risen from the ashes of the Great Fire of 1871, has produced the spectacular Chicago World’s Fair to dazzle the entire globe with a profound display of progress and culture. Over 27 million people await to catch a glimpse of the Windy City lit up with thousands of electric lightbulbs. The fairgoers have a chance to experience the world’s first Ferris wheel, see hundreds of incredible masterpieces at the Palace of Fine Arts, ride in a Gondola on the canals of the Court of Honor, and much, much more! The greatest technological and cultural accomplishments of the world to date are all within the confines of these fairgrounds, and are yours to explore.
Our committee will be situated during the Chicago World’s Fair of 1893 and will mimic the various events of the fair, ranging from the most awe-striking exhibits to various chaotic disasters that delegates will have to contend with. Delegates will find themselves taking on the parts of influential figures in the history of Chicago and the country at large: from fair organizers to prominent politicians and civil rights leaders, each will be equipped to shape the organization and maintenance of the fair along with America’s place in the world. The people are ready for a new age, and this fair will give it to them. The United States is ready to make its presence known. Finally, the World’s Fair is Chicago’s chance to show the world what’s what.
We invite you to join us in spectacle, mystery, and riding da wheel that makes the Chicago World’s Fair such a Wheel-y Big Deal.
